At Sofico, continuous learning and development are key to maintaining a high-performing workforce and ensuring that employees, customers, and partners stay up to date with the latest (software) developments. The learning platform is not just an internal tool but also serves as a critical tool for external stakeholders. These stakeholders include implementation partners who need to be up to date on the latest software developments. Also, clients of Sofico use the platform to train their own teams, ensuring their knowledge is of the highest standard. A well-trained partner network leads to higher overall satisfaction.

Therefore, it’s platform plays a critical role in business success by:

The challenge Sofico was facing was that this business-critical platform, as described above, was in need of a fresh and modern look. In terms of platform setup, there was also room for improvements to enhance the user experience. While Sofico had already invested in other tools and websites to create a fresh and attractive brand, the learning platform had not yet been updated to fully align with this vision.

The Solution

To address the challenges faced by Sofico, a comprehensive upgrade of the Totara learning platform was implemented. This upgrade was designed to meet the diverse needs of Sofico’s employees, customers, and partners, ensuring that the platform remained a critical tool for continuous learning and development.

The Totara upgrade focused on several key areas to enhance the user experience and overall platform usage:

  • Modernize UI: The user interface was completely redesigned to align with Sofico’s corporate branding. This included a fresh, modern look that made navigation intuitive and visually appealing.
  • Enhanced Accessibility and UX: The platform was optimized to easily be accessible, by adding several elements to the homepage, like recently added courses and current active learnings. The new design ensured that users could quickly find the information they needed, making the learning process efficient and enjoyable. This way, Sofico ensured that all stakeholders could benefit from the training resources available.

The attributes of Totara that Sofico particularly appreciated included its flexibility, ease of customization, and robust feature set. Totara’s ability to integrate seamlessly with Sofico’s existing systems and its support for a wide range of learning activities made it the ideal solution for the company’s needs.

Overall, the Totara upgrade transformed Sofico’s learning platform into a modern, engaging, and scalable tool that supports the company’s commitment to continuous learning and development.

The Results

The project outcome was a refreshed and attractive user interface, enhancing the overall user experience. Moreover, the look & feel were in line with Sofico’s brand and theme, which makes the platform very recognizable.

  • Improved Engagement: Feedback from end users was that the platform is more intuitive and visually appealing, which has a positive impact on the learning experience.
  • Higher Adoption: When comparing user logins and course completions to a similar period before the project, we can see a clear increase in usage of the platform.
    • User logins: 7782 logins vs 4854 user logins in a previous, similar period
    • Course completions: 1333 course completions vs 847 course completions in a similar previous period

Sofico is happy to see these users can experience the new way of learning with enhanced usability.
